Last August 28, 2017, the Dominican Studentate Pastoral Board (DSPB) held its General Assembly at the St. Martin de Porres Hall of Sto. Domingo Parish. It was attended by the Dominican Studentate Community and a number of lay affiliates. Inspired by the theme SEE (Sending, Engaging, and Empowering) YOU #KitaKita, the DSPB officially launched another year for the apostolic groups of the Dominican Studentate.
At 6:00 p.m., the program started with the praying of the vespers, followed by the opening remarks of Br. Arden Xerxes D. Dacuma, OP, the DSPB Coordinator. In the program, each apostolic group presented their respective thrusts for the formation year 2017-2018. The name of the apostolic groups with their corresponding apostolates are as follows: KAPATID (Si Kristo ang Patutunguhan sa Tulong ng Ina ng Diyos) for the promotion of Marian devotion, PST (Pagtugon sa Tawag) for Dominican Vocations, KADAUPAN (Katarungan ng Diyos ang Ugat ng Payapang Adhikain) for Justice, Peace, and Care of Creation, MUKHA AD (Masiglang Ugnayan ng mga Kabataang Hinuhubog sa Anyo ng Anak ng Diyos) for the formation of the youth, and DSMC (Dominican Students’ Media Center) for media evangelization.
Afterwards, a simple dinner was shared by everyone Br. Ramon T. Salibay, OP, the Master of Students, gave a short message on the significance of the apostolates of the Student-Brothers in cooperation with some lay collaborators. Towards the end of the program, the new sets of officers of the DSPB and the apostolic groups were inducted by Br. Marcelino E. Saria, OP, the Director of Pastoral Formation, who also formally closed the program.
