The Catholic Educational Association of Legazpi (CEAL) assembled at Aquinas University of Legazpi (AUL) for this year’s CEAL Youth Camp. The event was conducted at the AUL Dome on January 13-14, 2017 with the theme “Live Life to the Fullest with Christ”. Some 502 students from different schools all over Albay joined the youth camp.
Fr. Rolando Panesa, Rector of St. Gregory the Great Seminary, presided the Eucharistic Celebration.
AUL Rector and President Fr. Ernesto Arceo, OP, also delivered a welcome message. Fr. Arceo is the President of the CEAL, and also the President-elect of the Bicol Association of Catholic Schools (BACS).
Police Chief Inspector Elbide A. Esparrago together with the Officer-In-Charge for Legazpi City Anti-Drug Prevention Council Ricardo Montanilla serves as a speaker for the symposium on drug-related issues.
Students participated in simultaneous games in volleyball, basketball, and table tennis where they were able to fortify their sportsmanship and teamwork. Moreover, one of the major highlights of the CEAL Youth Camp was the ‘Taize’, a combination of praise, worship and thanksgiving.
The CEAL Youth Camp is one of the major undertakings of the Association, conducted annually to strengthen camaraderie, goodwill, and coordination among the member-schools. The CEAL is composed of 14 member schools, namely: Aquinas University of Legazpi, Divine Word College of Legazpi, St. Gregory the Great Seminary, Mater Salutis College Seminary, St. Raphael Academy, St. Agnes’ Academy, Dominican School of Camalig, St. Benedict’s Academy, St. Mary’s Academy, St. Michael Academy, St. Peter’s Academy, St. Louise de Marillac School of Tabaco, Virgin of Carmel High School, and Don Bosco Agro-Technical Training Center.
